Remodeling & Construction

Transforming a home can feel like an overwhelming task. We partner with clients to identify and implement their vision and take care of all the details. We collaborate with architects and builders, including in the areas of selecting hard surfaces, lighting plans, bespoke cabinetry, and more, in order to create a seamless experience for our clients.

New Construction

A successful home build requires expertise. We are adept at creating spaces that are timeless, comfortable, and entirely customized. We oversee the entire process, from construction to installation to styling. The end result is a relaxed, refined home tailored to the lifestyles of our clients.

We aim to deliver the best experience from consultation to final walk-through. Our process is detail- oriented, ensuring clients know exactly what to expect from the beginning. We build a timeline, including scheduled meetings, to provide clarity and expectations for each deliverable.

From initial concepts to renderings to material selections and final installation, we take care of every detail.

Phase One: Conceptual Design

For new builds or extensive remodels, SMD provides architectural review and consultation on floor plans, electrical plans, plumbing and surface material considerations among others. We attend client, architect and contractor meeting & site visits. We can also provide space planning and rough concept layouts.

By the hour

Phase One: Design Development

A fixed fee based on scope of work (included in the FFE budget and approved before design phase begins) includes sourcing, renderings, client meetings and correspondence, presentations, proposal creation. Half of the design fee is due at the start of this phase and the remainder is due before moving to procurement phase.

Phase Two: Procurement

This fee is a percentage based on items to be purchased and is included on the product proposal. Procurement fee includes all ordering, tracking, vendor communication, receiving, inspection and getting items ready for installation.

Shipping, storage fees and delivery to installation is not included and will be billed separately.

Phase Three: Installation

The home finally comes to life!

For installation, we charge a per-day fee. We place, style, and perfect every single detail to give you a truly turn-key experience. When we're done, we'll welcome you home to a refined and inviting space that is ready for living.
